Requires Farish 08 diesel chassis.
In 1942 the Ministry of Supply decided it had a need for a heavy duty shunting loco and adopted a modification of a standard Hunslet design. The modified design entered service in 1943 and after the war a large number of the engines were sold off, buyers included industrial concerns, the Nederlands Railways and the LNER who purchased 75 in total numbering them 8006-8080. Withdrawal of the class began in September 1960 and continued through to 1967. Th J94 was modified in use to allow incresed coal capacity and either version can be built from this kit.
The kit contains castings to build the loco body, it is designed to fit on a Graham Farish 08 diesel chassis which requires no modification. |
