Product

E30 - Bedford coal lorry & crew - N Gauge

Details

Comes in kit form and requires painting. Introduced 1931.

During the 1920's the Chevrolet range of Commercial vehicles had been imported into the UK and assembled locally. In an attempt to boost both image and sales they were placed under the control of General Motors' UK car producer Vauxhall and by 1931 the range had been completely redesigned and produced under the Bedford badge. Success was immediate as the vehicles were fast and reliable and became popular with all branches of the road haulage industry. They remained in production until 1939 and saw service for many years after that. In the US this model was the Chevrolet 'Independence' Series 1.5T flatback.

This model portrays a flatbed used by a coal merchant, it comes complete with a load of open topped coal sacks, a man manoeuvreing a sack and another lifting one onto his shoulders. A sack truck completes the model.
