M40 - Chemical - water separation - N Gauge

Details

Comes in kit form and requires painting.

Industrial water treatment facilities cover a multitude of activities as part of the purification process before water can be returned to rivers and municipal drainage systems after use in manufacturing processes. Sometimes used water is recycled for local reuse but further processes must take place to eliminate possible health risks.

One particular process is the separation of re-useable chemicals and precious metals from water. Dependant on waste-water volumes being processed the equipment used varies in size, with soiled water being pumped through heating and condensing tanks where the separation takes place. Although this equipment is connected to other processes via pipework, when placed externally this interconnecting pipework is often run out of sight with supply, collection and return pipes turning down into tanks, bunkers or semi-covered trenches below ground level.

We have selected a tank sizes that would be installed outside either singularly or doubled banked for further processing, suitable for N-Gauge 1:148 to 1:160 scale size modelling. If required interlinking pipework can be achieved using our industrial Pipework & Fittings kits and Industrial Pumps Selection kit, both kits being available separately. The actual tanks are often lighter coloured in white, light grey, pale green or stainless silver. Pipework would be reddish-brown and orange, with pump & motors blue, however these colours are not exact being a matter of choice. The base can be a hint of green-beige to represent concrete finish.

The model could easily be used in a variety of other industrial settings to add visual interest.
