Requires Farish Prairie loco chassis and Farish GWR/SR tender chassis.
The 2-6-0 design was initiated on the Great Western by Churchward and some 322 locos of the 43xx class were built from 1911 onwards. In 1932 Collett built a further batch of engines with minor changes (he fitted them with side window cabs, outside steam pipes and screw reverse. These locos were numbered in the 93xx series and looked quite noticeably different from the earlier Churchward design as they had the drop in the footplate a full 12 inches further forward in line with the front of the front of the smokebox. All the engines passed into British Railways ownership and in the 1950's they converted the locos back to the lightweight bufferbeam format and renumbered them inthe 73xx series above the last 'original' 7321.
The kit contains the same variations as available in kit A11.
Castings are included to complete both loco and tender body together with handrail wire and etched numberplates. To complete you will need a Graham Farish Prairie chassis which needs slight modification (details in instructions) and Graham Farish GWR/SR tender chassis. |
