Parts to make two storage tanks as shown. Although this was designed as part of our water purification plant it can easily be used in a stand alone basis in any industrial setting for added visual interest.

Industrial water treatment facilities cover a multitude of activities as part of the purification process before water can be returned to rivers and municipal drainage systems after use in manufacturing processes. Sometimes used water is recycled for local reuse but further processes must take place to eliminate possible health risks. Additives used in the process to cover neutralization, coagulation, sedimentation, odour control, fluoridation etc. need to be stored on site ready for draw-off use. Depending on volumes needed the liquid forms can be stored in large vertical tanks, smaller horizontal tanks or even smaller oil-type drums and containers, however smaller containers require extra handling to lift and decanter into the transfer equipment. Tank-containers are also sometimes used and these would sit on a permanent frame containing the pipework & pumps and electric control gear. The relating interconnected pipework and valve equipment is also very complex covering both tank filling and variable discharge rates. Ladders usually run up the sides providing top access for regular maintenance and cleaning.

We have selected large twin vertical tanks with pipework feeding the multi-pumping and mixing equipment plant, available as a separate kit. Filling pipework has also been incorporated running up the side from ground level. A small electrical control box is also provided to fit against the side of each tank. These are suitable for N-Gauge 1:148 to 1:160 scale size modelling. If required, addition pipework and fittings can be introduced to further interlink with other processing plant especially if tanks are to be located further away. With the majority of pipework from these tanks having a relatively small bore, we suggest 0.5mm brass-wire or similar be used, although our pump selection kit may be useful, available separately.
