M31 (3) Methane tanks (2) - N GAUGE -
Picture includes illustration of model when completed
Pack contains parts to make 2 tanks as shown, requires assembly and painting.
Although a model of methane tanks from a water purification plant the model can be used to simulate many other industrial settings.
Industrial water treatment facilities cover a multitude of activities as part of the purification process before water can be returned to rivers and municipal drainage systems after use in manufacturing processes. Sometimes used water is recycled for local re-use but further processes must take place to eliminate possible health risks. One important activity is the collection of Methane Gas from the processing stages and its safe storage pending re-use. Tank size is related to the amount of gas generated with two or more tanks interconnected with pipework pumps and valves not being uncommon.
We have selected two medium size tanks standing 12ft high approx. that would be located outside with supply and distribution pipework running down to ground level, suitable for N-Gauge 1:148 to 1:160 scale size modelling. If required additional pipework and fittings can be introduced to further interlink with other water processing plant using our Industrial Pipework & Fittings kits available separately. The tanks and ladders can be painted white, pumps and valves blue and pipework yellow. The valve hand-wheels often match pump colours, but black, yellow and red are also used, however all colours given are not exact being a matter of choice. We suggest a card base be created and painted a hint of green-beige to represent the concrete hard-standing.
