M32 (3) R O Filtration unit - N GAUGE -
Picture includes illustration of model when completed, requires assembly and painting.
Model can also be used in a variety of industrial sites simply to add visual interest.
Industrial water treatment facilities cover a multitude of activities as part of the purification process before water can be returned to rivers and municipal drainage systems after use in manufacturing processes. Sometimes used water is recycled for local re-use but further processes must take place to eliminate possible health risks.
One particular filtration process is Reverse Osmosis (RO). Dependent on waste-water volumes being processed the equipment used varies in size and complexity, with water under high pressure being pumped through membrane coils separating the pure water from the high solute concentration which is subsequently reprocessed. Although this equipment is connected to other processes via pipework, when placed externally this interconnecting pipework is often run out of sight with supply and return pipes turning down into tanks, bunkers or semi-covered trenches below ground level.
We have selected an RO unit size that would be seen outside either singularly, doubled or multi-banked, suitable for N-Gauge 1:148 to 1:160 scale size modelling. If required interlinking pipework can be achieved using our industrial Pipework & Fittings kits. The actual Tubular-structure would be white or as the pipework from it a stainless-steel silver, the control-Cabinet housing would be grey, the pressure-exchanger yellow, the pump & motor blue, as would be the supporting structure, however these colours are not exact being a matter of choice. The base can be a hint of green-beige to represent concrete block finish
