M76 (3) Industrial shredder / crusher on static frame - N GAUGE -
Picture includes illustration of model when complete.
Pack contains parts to build one crusher, requires assembly and painting.
This version is situated on a static frame, we also produce the model on caterpillar tracks (ref M75) and a semi trailer (ref M74)
Background:
Large industrial Shredding/Crushing Plant has existed for many years to reduce a vast range of materials to a manageable size for further processing, direct use or general distribution. These will be seen in various forms at quarries, coal mining & coke preparation, sheet timber manufacturers, concrete and rubber reclamation and many other forms of material recycling including scrap cars & metalwork, wood & shrubbery, plastics, glass, paper & cardboard. Some are purpose built and others are produced for multi-uses with maybe a cutter change or with material feeding considerations. Being large pieces of equipment mobility is an important consideration being available for siting in permanent location, with caterpillar tracks for ability to move over rough terrain in quarries and the like or on semi-trailers, being ready to move to multiple sites with relative ease and speed. They are used individually or within complex conveyor system with grading and screening facilities. They may also sit in an elevated location and automatically fed. Main power source within the unit would be diesel powered electro-hydrostatic.
The models:
Our kits of these units are designed as a well-engineered generic simulation to complement the conveyor range and provide the modeller with two basic types in three forms and include a discharge conveyor staged as in-use. (For travelling the conveyor would normally be stowed folded in-half). These units could also be used to represent further screening processes by believing smaller cutters exist within them, giving a second or third unit a different purpose. The static units could also be elevated on steel structures within a run of conveyors. A short electro-magnet conveyor unit is also available separately, where modeller may wish to portray the removal of metal objects from main discharge conveyor or added this further process over a conveyor run hung from a steel bridging frame. The steel structures with walkways and stairways are available separately. Piles of typical scrap/waste materials are also available separately. (Ref M54- M56)
